Oh where do I begin with this clogging competition day. First of all, look out boys she is only six. She is beautiful. Let's just say that all the girls are going to be jealous of those eyelashes in high school. They are long!!
Here is a picture of her and her friends before they went on stage for their solo dances (which is when they are judged on their individual abilities but dance with others on stage). She placed first on both her dance solos.
Up on stage. Sorry for the red eye but it will not fix. She was so scared the night before but you could not tell it because she got up there and did fantastic! She received a medal and two first place pins to put on the medal ribbon for each solo that she got first.
Then as she received her placing and awards her awesome daddy had bought her a dozen pink roses. I do not know what was more exciting for her the medal or roses. From this point on in the night you could not wipe the smile off her face. She felt loved and you could see it! Thanks Dad for being the sweetheart that you are and always thinking of your girls.
I didn't think the night could go any better and then they called her dance team up to the stage to receive their award. She was the only one they could find and so she went up on the stage and received it. Her team placed first for their dance category and won an overall studio award. She was beaming to hold this trophy that was almost as tall as her. She carried it to the car and would not let her mother touch it, in fact, she told Grandma it was too heavy for Mom to carry. She got up the next morning and went right to it, carried it into the bathroom and weighed it. It was six pounds. I do not think the night could have gone any better and I also think that any fear that was there is now gone and replaced with confidence. She is bummed that she has to take the trophy to the studio to display it for the team but she is glad that it has been here this long.
